My framed work explores the layering of faces to make them unrecognizable, or more difficult to distinguish than the ones in the previous work. To achieve this I have used a group of colours that complement each other and allows the faces to blend when stitched overlapping

This body of work explores both a piece containing a range of colours and a monochrome piece, the monochrome works better with the concealment of the faces as they are able to blend into the background more seamlessly.

The use of colour with a monochrome piece makes the different sections of the work blend into each other the faces themselves less distinguishable. This allows them to seem like added texture, the form of the stitching an afterthought.

This piece explores the text used in the work alongside the stitching and faces used. The Picture of Dorian Gray is the book used in this work for the themes of perception and appearance being reflective of morality in the book.

As this piece is focused on the text alongside the faces, the use of colour is more limited to allow the chosen, specific lines to be the focus as they are highlighted by the only coloured stitching used in the piece. This is also important as it makes the repetitive style of the stitched faces clear to the viewer.
