This piece is called the Stitched-up FrontIt focuses on how emotion is displayed and understood through its absence. Allowing the viewer to decide for themselves what feeling is being communicated and how it affects them personally.  This work includes a wall installation of joined book pages that hang down the wall in strips. And a book with connected, unbound pages that allow the viewer to maneuver and pull them out from the cover. Creating these portraits through sewing allows the work to convey the idea of displaying a crafted persona for specific situations or audiences and never being fully authentic with other people. Using a limited colour palette in this work of only black and white has allowed the contrast of the two colours to be explored. The book moves from blank pages with black stitching to black pages with white stitching, joined by the half and half pages in the middle. Highlighting the different effects of the two types of pages when displayed right next to each other and transitioning from one to the other.
